Moroccan Bathroom
Sigma fitters relish the challenge of working with imaginative designs: this gives us a great opportunity to employ all our tiling, carpentry and decorating skills.
On this Moroccan Bathroom project in Hampstead (London NW3) we were really able to show off our creative flair! We met the interior designer at our client's house, where we discussed and conceived the Moroccan Bathroom theme and layout that would maximise the bathroom’s space.

We provided the client with many examples of Moroccan décor and typical flavours of Moroccan interiors. She then chose Moroccan tiles and marble to complement the new bathroom suite. Once the design drawing was ready, our bathroom installers removed the old suite, and the plumber ran new pipes,
The tilers made templates for the marble features, and our plasterer prepared the walls for the Moroccan tiles which for extra effect were to be of a mosaic type.

At this stage the plasterer applied tierrafino stone tadelakt waterproof lime-based plaster, mixed with organic ivory pigment to the ceiling. This is a beautiful ornamental finish that follows the old Moroccan 'tadelakt' tradition, as seen in the most exquisite Moroccan bath-houses.
Other pigment options include aubergine, violet and sienna.
Our carpenter then built a bespoke vanity unit and a stylish and practical bath-surround, while our plumbers fitted the suite during the first stages of the bathroom installation.
By now, the project was ready to be transformed into a luxurious Moroccan bathroom. The tilers arrived and set to work laying the mosaic tiles on the walls, using top quality adhesive and grout. They fitted the beautifully crafted marble window sill, marble worktop on vanity unit, and marble bath-surround.
Things were really taking shape now, and our tilers moved in to expertly lay the rustic, river pebble tiles on a bed of high performance flexible adhesive, then fashioned an attractive and practical skirting of river pebbles to ensure ease of cleaning, along with the added style element.
Our client herself made the finishing touches with a mirror and lamp brought directly from Casablanca.
The Sigma team were thoroughly satisfied with the eye-catching result, and proud of their work on the Hampstead Moroccan Bathroom project.
