Designing Small Bathrooms
The biggest problem in Designing Small Bathrooms is that they have minimal space, and the goal is to make it appear larger and still have all the elements of a larger space. In these bathrooms, it’s a challenge because every inch makes a difference, and when a large mirror is used, it appears larger than it actually is. Bathroom Fitters will advise clients that need a shower door to use clear glass because it stretches the space and allows the space to coordinate with a consistent finish for all the hardware and trim between the shower, sink, and bathtub.
Some more issues…
- Another issue that consumers have with a small bathroom is storage space, it’s virtually non-existent and there are several options. A vanity can be installed that has cabinets and drawers or bins, and the Bathroom Fitters can add space organizers for assorted supplies such as hair supplies, toiletries, and other necessities found in this type of space.
- One thing they will also recommend is to avoid sinks that are freestanding because they provide no storage space, and since that’s a premium, they may be stylish, but they are just space hogs when more storage is needed.
- There are actually some areas that are still important when Designing Small Bathrooms and one is the low-flow toilets. They use 1.6 gallons of water each time it is flushed and there are different models available. The best recommendation from Bathroom Fitters is one with a larger water surface, and there needs to be enough space around the toilet for comfortable access, which is difficult in these smaller bathrooms. The recommendation is that there is at least 16 inches of clearance along the sides of the toilet, and approximately three feet of clearance from the front. Certainly there are other considerations such as the bathtub, and these can range from £100 to several hundreds depending on the type purchased.
- When the space for a small bathroom is utilized with the most efficient space for storage, using mirrors to create the perception of a larger room, and coordinating colors and fixtures, it can appear significantly larger.

This is one of those delightful areas that built with various inns, farm houses, and some of the most beautiful gardens in the area.
